FAQ
What if I am not a Mom in the traditional sense of the word?

Great question! Throughout the program the word Mom is going to be used. But this program is completely open to anyone and it is absolutely valid and relevant for dads, or anyone else who is a primary care giver to a newborn. So please know that the title of Mom is being used lovingly to refer to YOU specifically, no matter what your relationship to the baby is, and is not intended to exclude anyone.

What if I own my own business or don't have a traditional work environment?

The good news is that principles of the program will still apply! When you get to the 2nd half of the program where we begin to focus on returning to work, you can apply the sessions to your partners, clients or vendors instead.

How much time can I expect to spend on the program each week?

Each week's materials will take about 10-20 minutes to review.
There are additional exercises certain weeks that can take an additional 5-30 minutes for the week, depending on the topic. It is important that you go at your own pace and complete the exercises when it works best for your schedule.
There are also some daily practices that you will be forming that might take anywhere from 5-20 minutes a day, based on your level of desire and commitment to them. These daily practices are designed to become part of your daily life and ideally by week 12 you will be doing them without counting them as time doing the program!

The program is based on 12 weeks, but what should I do if I have less than 12 weeks of Maternity Leave?

No problem, the program can be adjusted to account for any number of weeks home with baby before returning to work. You have a couple of options to choose from, just make the adjustment based on what works best for you.

1. Double up on some videos as needed, and watch 2 during some weeks instead of 1. But keep to the order, completing the videos in order of weeks 1 through 12.

2. Stick to one video per week and return to work at whatever week you are at. But continue watching the videos until you have completed the program.

What if I don't have time to complete all of the exercises each week?

We all know that time is the one thing that we seem to underestimate, when it comes to the resources we need to care for a new baby. I have been in your shoes and know that days and weeks can seem to slip away in the blink of an eye.

If you don't have time to complete the exercise at the same time you are reviewing the material - try your best to get to them within the week. If not, carve out a moment to mentally focus on the exercises and make a plan for yourself. The program is most effective when you have a plan and are able to follow it through. But also, show yourself some forgiveness if you can't get to it right away. You are adjusting to a lot of new things in your life right now. This program is designed to help you navigate your postpartum period, not make it more stressful!

What if I miss a week?

All is not lost! Just continue on where you left off. Then pick one of these options that works best for you:

1. Double up on some videos as needed, and watch 2 during some weeks instead of 1. But keep to the order, completing the videos in order of weeks 1 through 12.

2. Stick to one video per week and return to work at whatever week you are at. But continue watching the videos until you have completed the program.

What is the Born to 12 community?

Our mission is to celebrate and support all the moments of motherhood (big & small), and to meet other new moms that are following the Born to 12 program through their postpartum journey, who are having a similar experience and who care about the same topics that you do.

We all love to share pics & videos of our new baby and our family, with those we are close to. Think of the community as an extension of that. It is a fun, safe environment where you can form bonds by sharing those beautiful baby smiles, and milestones, and crazy moments that no one would believe.

You can also use it to post about topics as they relate to the weekly material, and search topics for ideas and inspiration.
